Gift Yourself Some Relaxation
Holiday Self-Care Gift Guide
This time of year is all about showing generosity and celebrating those we love. I appreciate the spirit of the holidays, but let’s be honest, it can be totally exhausting! We all seem to talk about self-care a lot but are we making time for it? Why not show yourself the same love you freely give to others this holiday season!
Self-care is something that looks different for each of us. I’m not here to say there is a right way to take some time for you. However, I do think that caring for ourselves has become over complicated. We seem to think self-care has to be a time-consuming activity to count. Many of us are busy, so we end up skipping self-care altogether. With that in mind, I wanted to share a few realistic self-care ideas that you can gift yourself.
I’m based in Nashville, so I have a few fun local picks in the mix! You can find these items in-person or online. Hopefully, this gift guide sparks new self-care ideas and creates moments of relaxation and self-love! As always, if you feel like you need extra support this holiday season, connect with me for a free consultation!
Mindful Mornings
Nashville Gift Guide
My Nashville picks inspire a few minutes of mindfulness and relaxation for your morning. We are all busy, and it seems like the days move quickly. That’s why I try to start my day mindfully. This totally helps me feel more grounded and ready for the day ahead.
If you don’t yet know about High Garden Tea, check them out! They are a conscience brand with a passion for herbalism. I love brewing tea first thing in the morning. I try to find a mindful moment as the tea steeps and take some time to enjoy my morning cup slowly. I like herbal teas like Calm Infusion. I enjoy a warm drink without the added caffeine. Plus, if my morning gets away from me, I can create a mindful moment any time of day with a herbal brew!
Self-care doesn’t have to take long or be complicated! For me, caring for myself in the morning means taking time to hydrate my skin. The added relaxation bonus is mindfully checking in with myself rather than rushing around. I love using Thistle Farms Eucalyptus Mint lotion for a self-care gift. The sent is energizing in a natural and grounding way. I also love knowing I’m supporting Thistle Farms, a company that promotes healing and hope for women survivors of trafficking.
Sometimes caring for ourselves means taking a few extra moments to get ready in the morning. Putting on clothes that make you feel awesome is a practical and easy way to show yourself some love. When it’s finally time to get dressed for your holiday plans, do it with a stylish and sustainable sweater. Self-care that is also good for the environment is a win-WIN! Able’s Marlowe V Neck Sweater has you covered. This sweater is cute, cozy, and affordable. Not only is this sweater high quality, but Able is a responsible brand that offers a lifetime guarantee and virtual styling. If you haven’t checked them out yet, do it now and thank me later!
Relaxing Evening Rituals

After a full day of holiday festivities, try making some self-care time in the evening. This will help recharge you for more holiday fun. For me, self-care in the evening means relaxing my body and reflecting with gratitude. I love this One Line A Day book for easy mindfulness and reflection. This book is a fun and approachable way to practice gratitude as part of your evening routine. It doesn’t take much time, and gratitude helps make even the tricky days seem manageable. For me, there is something impactful about actually writing out my reflections rather than thinking them in my mind. Plus, this book gives you the added benefit of seeing highlights over five years!
During the holiday season, my mind can be racing at the end of the day. I find myself thinking about last-minute shopping, holiday dinner menus, and how to make time for everything planned! It can be hard to get the sleep I need with a busy mind. I came across Hug Sleep to help me get a better night’s rest, thanks to the science behind weighted blankets. This stretchy sleep blanket provides a nice compression to your entire body, promoting a relaxing sleep. It’s like being in a cocoon hug which feels amazing snuggled into on restless nights!
While snuggled in your Hug Sleep, check out Julia Samuel’s This Too Shall Pass: Stories of Change, Crisis, and Hopeful Beginnings. This Too Shall Pass was one of my favorite reads this year! We have all experienced so much change and uncertainty in the past two years, and it can feel overwhelming. Julia tells stories of others experiencing change and how they cope through her brilliant writing and reflections on therapy sessions. I encourage you to pick up a copy as a form of self-care. Sometimes, caring for ourselves means finding comfort in knowing we all experience times of change and uncertainty. Self-care during difficult times also means remembering “this too shall pass”.
Relaxation Takeaways
Self-care doesn’t have to wait until January 1st or be overly complicated! There are plenty of little yet impactful ways to care for yourself this holiday season. Show yourself some of the beautiful love you give to others. You deserve it!
I hope you all have a lovely holiday season. I appreciate the holidays can be a tricky time for some of us. While this holiday season can come along with many ups and downs, I want to wish you a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season!
