WINGATE COUNSELING
Founder & Grief Expert
Shea Wingate, LCSW
My background in mental health and lived grief experiences allow me to bring a unique perspective to grief work. Grief work isn't about "getting over it" or "moving on." It's about learning how to grow around loss. Working with me, you can expect tangible help, support, and validation to navigate grief. I'll help you manage your loss and build a fulfilling life. After losing my parents and older sister within thirteen months, I became familiar with the demands of grief. I struggled to find helpful grief support, which led me to open Wingate Counseling. I'm passionate about therapy and feel honored whenever I help a fellow griever. Grief work is personal, which is why it's important to find someone who understands loss. I'm not a stuffy therapist you can't relate to; I'm open about my grief journey—even the ugly parts! As a fellow griever, I know what it's like to have your entire world turned upside down! Working with me means you finally have a place to talk to someone who understands—someone you don't have to take care of but who takes care of you! Contact me today to schedule a free consultation call. Let's start your healing journey!

Our Story
Wingate Counseling was founded out of both personal loss and professional passion. After experiencing her own profound loss from the deaths of her parents and older sister, Shea Wingate struggled to find a therapist who truly understood the depth of her pain - someone who could hold space not only with clinical expertise but with the kind of compassion that only comes from having lived it. That experience shaped everything that came next.

Shea envisioned a practice where clients would feel safe, seen, and supported through life's most difficult seasons. From that vision, Wingate Counseling was born. What began as a personal mission has grown into a collaborative practice of therapists who bring warmth, wisdom, and wholehearted care to every session. At Wingate Counseling, we specialize in helping adults navigate grief, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges - always with a focus on authenticity, connection, and healing that lasts.
